Middle School students who are interested in any aspect of chess:
- You may or may not have prior knowledge of the game.
- You could be interested in playing for fun or playing competitively.
- You might be interested in the history of chess.
- You might want to learn more about chess strategy.
If you fall into any of these categories, Chess Club might be a good place for you!

Chess Club will be a place where students have a chance to play and learn about chess. Mr. Kunin will give instruction in various aspects of the game, and there will be time for friendly matches as well as for organized tournament play. If there is sufficient interest, we will also compete in interscholastic tournaments.

Where and when:
Chess Club will meet from 3:20 to 4:20 on Friday afternoons in Mr. Kunin's room, 220 in the 7-8 building.

If you join Chess Club, you are NOT required to attend every meeting, but you should try to come as often as possible to get the most out of it. If you are relatively new to chess, you should bear in mind that we will be having quite a bit of instruction aimed at beginners, especially in the first few weeks.

If you are not sure whether you would like to be in Chess Club, you can certainly come to the first (few) meeting(s) and decide for yourself!
